Moving Past Your Past Workshop

Do you feel overly nervous when talking to certain people?  Do you find yourself angry and not understand why you are so angry?  Do you have private fears that keep you from trying important things in life?  Do you find yourself unable to lift yourself out of a certain sadness?

This  one-day intensive workshop Moving Past Your Past can help.  Dr. Jiji Harner will provide Biblical and psychological insights into how our emotions form and how they impact our current functioning.  We will then work in smaller groups to explore our own experiences of emotional formation

Description:  Our emotional experiences from childhood and with our families shape our behavior into adulthood and our current families in more ways than we can imagine.  This workshop provides practical insight into how our individual emotional experiences have shaped us and the time to process our discoveries with others.  Through the light of truth and being open with caring others, we are often set free from the deep emotional scars of traumatic experiences.  You will be provided the space and structure to thoughtfully consider your life and God’s purposes in bringing you through what you have experienced and how that shapes your present and future.  In this interactive workshop,  you will have the opportunity (but not pressure) to share your own thoughts, feelings and experiences.

Dr. Jiji Harner earned her Master's Degree in Counseling in Nyack, NY.  She was practicing as a psychotherapist in the state of New York before returning to the Philippines in 2006 and starting Harner Marriage and Family Counseling Center in Consolacion, Cebu.  She earned her Doctor of Organizational Development and Transformation from Cebu Doctors’ University in 2012.   Jiji, along with her husband Rick, are missionaries with New Life Fellowship (Queens, NY) serving in Cebu since 2006.
